TrailTag
Product design for an outdoors GPS tag.
As a part of the Generate product design studio, I consulted with our client OpenTrail Technologies on their concept, TrailTag. TrailTag is a small, rugged communications device intended for hikers and skiers to allow groups to coordinate and locate each other even without a cell phone signal. As this product was in its earliest conceptual stage upon introduction to Generate, I developed looks-like prototypes, Industrial Design work, and manufacturability research for the client. This culminated in two final product forms handed off to the client at the conclusion of our partnership, both of which were developed from rigorous product design methodology including creating a requirements document, establishing use cases and user stories, creating and consulting a morphological chart, and designing for manufacturability with input from Generate mentors. I created CAD models for each product form, and made renders that were ultimately used in marketing materials.
