IDEO CoLab
Exploring the future of transportation with IDEO.
In April 2019, I joined IDEO CoLab for a one-week design sprint, as an Academic Fellow. Within a small team of three fellows, and with the guidance of IDEO mentors, I worked on a design brief focused on the future of multi-modal public transportation.
Over the course of the week, my team collaborated to research the opportunity landscape for an open, multi-modal transit platform, even interviewing MBTA riders at nearby Central Station. We then dreamed up a fictional venture, called "Yolk", that could fill this niche with a business plan informed by our learnings. To illustrate this design fiction to others at the end of the week, we built an interactive, theatrical "choose your own adventure" transit experience, that took users through an imaginary Yolk transit journey with the help of a narration app.

Bonus: I used the handlebars from my 1983 Trek 520 touring bicycle as one of our experiential props.
